Farm Description:

Naked Acre Farm is a small-scale, certified organic, diversified vegetable operation located in Hyde Park, VT. We grow on 5 acres and pride ourselves on a love of labor, the benefits from working outside in the soil, and enjoying delicious, fresh food. Our produce can be found in stores and restaurants throughout north central Vermont and through our CSA. We are seeking a full-time and a part-time employee for the 2022 season with hopes of working into the future for the right candidate.

Position Summary:

Our ideal candidates will have some vegetable production experience and will be self-motivated and hard-working. Main tasks will include harvesting and wash/pack duties, with the potential for more responsibility including transplanting, weeding, and high tunnel work. Additional tasks for the right person will include cultivation, plantings, greenhouse work, and high tunnel work. The preferred candidates will be able to work as part of a team and also independently in varying types of weather. A positive attitude, strength, speed, and a sense of humor absolutely necessary. We work hard and have lots of fun!

- Pruning high tunnel crops

- High tunnel work

- Paper Pot Transplanting

Primary Responsibilities:

- Harvest Produce

- Wash/Pack Produce

- Produce quality control

- Transplant Seedlings

- Weed Crops

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

- Prior farm work experience

- Positive Attitude!!

- Good communication + sense of humor

- Strong body: Ability to lift, carry, up to 50 pounds

- Extended periods of time outside in all weather

- Must be comfortable bending, climbing, or kneeling

- Ability to work independently and/or as a team to complete tasks

- Ability to take care of oneself with proper gear, attire, food, water etc.

Wage and Benefits:

Wages are commensurate with experience and performance on the farm. Other benefits include weekly farm produce, working with fun, energetic growers, listening to amazing music in the wash/pack shed, beers/seltzers by the pond.

Type of Position:

Full Time/Part-Time Seasonal: April/May to October/November. This position also has the potential for more hours over more of the year for the right person.
